Gidon Bromberg Discusses Climate Challenges in the the Middle East With YC Honors Students

On Wednesday, February 9, 2022, the The Rabbi Arthur Schneier Program for International Affairs, the and the Jay and Jeanie Schottenstein Honors Program at hosted Gidon Bromberg, founder and Israel director of EcoPeace Middle East, for a talk titled 鈥淐limate Resilience in the Middle East.鈥
Bromberg discussed how the urgency to address environmental issues amid the climate crisis could motivate regional cooperation in the Middle East. He is a sought-after speaker on water, peace and security issues and has presented before the U.N. Commission for Sustainable Development, the Unites States House Committee on Foreign Affairs and the European Parliament.
Bromberg clearly broadened the students鈥 perspectives with his presentation. 鈥淢r. Bromberg gave me a sense of optimism that until now has been lacking in Israel-Arab relations,鈥 remarked Shimmy Greengart 鈥25YC. 鈥淣ot only can we improve in ways beneficial to both sides, but with a small nudge in the right direction, we will.鈥
